Thank you so much for tracking me down to tell me about the reunion. I think this is such a fabulous idea. Maria and I were just in Hammond several weeks ago during my spring break from school. We had not been to Hammond in close to 8-10 years. I could not get over all of the changes in town, at SLU and Holy Ghost.
Unfortunately we will not be able to come to the reunion. That weekend we have the Eucharistic Congress on Saturday, June 21st here in Atlanta and I will be in attendance representing our school---St. Thomas More. Afterwards we are headed to Amelia Island, Florida. We cannot change our plans because we rented a condo for a week in Amelia Island and all three of our sons and their wives/significant others will be going.
I can’t believe you were able to track me down at Pharr Elementary School and hook up with Susan McNally. I retired as the principal at Pharr two years ago. Since retiring from the public school system I have taken over as the principal of St. Thomas More Catholic School. In the meantime, Maria retired this year from teaching. We have three sons, two are married and our youngest is about to get engaged.
I certainly remember you from my teaching days at Holy Ghost and would love to come to the reunion. It would be a real treat to see everyone. Please give my best to all in attendance. I hope that you have a great turnout! Maybe at some point in the future we could all get together again for a reunion.

Here is what Mrs. Gautreaux wrote to all of us:
"I retired from the English Department at Southeastern in 2006 and have been a stay-at-home retiree since then. God has blessed me in so many ways and my only goal when I retired was to do a few good deeds. The truth is I have been the recipient of more than I have given. My husband Tim and I have two sons, one is an engineer in Aiken and the other an attorney in Chattanooga. They have wonderful wives and we dote on our grandchildren. I enjoy the outdoors, digging in the yard, kayaking, walking. I still read (for fun now) and can actually cook, too!
My love and best wishes to all of you. Please stop me and give me a hug if you see me in Hammond-or anywhere. May God bless your gathering and keep you safe and loved."
